Cumberland Goes To War is a community heritage project coordinated and promoted by Allegany County Tourism in partnership with the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority, the City of Cumberland, Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce. Funded in part by the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority, the Allegany County Commissioners and the City of Cumberland. Three brothers serving during WWII. Lt. Ace H. Hubertson, U.S. Army; Cpl. Raymond E. Humbertson, USMC; and Lt. Charles E. Humbertson, U.S. Army. The boys were the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ace Humbertson, 621 Greene Street, Cumberland.


Lt. Ace Humbertson served in Company G, 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division.
