Cumberland Goes To War is a community heritage project coordinated and promoted by Allegany County Tourism in partnership with the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority, the City of Cumberland, Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce. Funded in part by the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority, the Allegany County Commissioners and the City of Cumberland. March, 1945. A toast to Hitler at the banquet in Propoganda Minister Joseph Paul Goebels' Schloos Rheidt at Munchen Gladback. Lt. Col. Millholland is second from top on left. "This was a real party."
March 4, 1945 - the men of the 29th Infantry celebrated victory in the former castle of arch-Nazi Joseph Paul Goebbels. The toastmaster for the occasion was Lt. Col. Anthony Miller, regimental staff officer.
