The Haines brothers are the five sons of Walter Haines, all of whom proudly served their country from World War II through the Korean conflict.

Leo was the second oldest. He served in WWII as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. He parachuted into Normandy behind enemy lines as part of the D-Day Invasion. He was wounded during the invasion and received a Purple Heart.

The Haines brothers joined the service in the same order of their birth - John, Leo, Robert, Roy and then Bill. The four oldest brothers all served in WWII at the same time and all made it home safely.
