The Haines brothers are the five sons of Walter Haines, all of whom proudly served their country from World War II through the Korean conflict. Bill was the youngest son. He was born too late to fight in WWII or Korea, but he did follow in his brothers' footsetps. he was the only brother to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps, joining in 1955.
The Haines brothers joined the service in the same order of their birth - John, Leo, Robert, Roy and then Bill. The four oldest brothers all served in WWII at the same time and all made it home safely.
