Cumberland Goes To War is a community heritage project coordinated and promoted by Allegany County Tourism in partnership with the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority, the City of Cumberland, Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce. Funded in part by the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority, the Allegany County Commissioners and the City of Cumberland. About Me	Born in Cumberland, MD (Greene Street). Raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (history and philosophy) and the University of Pennsylvania (MA, history of science). Lived for extended periods in Philadelphia, New York (Manhattan), San Francisco and San Diego. Returned to Cumberland in 2005 after retiring from a 25+ year career in business journalism and marketing communications. I live in Bowling Green. Director of Communications, Allegany Museum.
